Islam denounce terrorism. Islam demands peace & justice. Islam is a religion of peace in the fullest sense of the word. The Arabic word Islam means Peace & Submission. So the spirit of Islam is the spirit of peace. The first verse of the Qur'an breathes the spirit of peace. It reads: "In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful." Islam, as a faith, means total and sincere submission to God so that one can live in peace and tranquility. Peace (Salam in Arabic) is achieved through active obedience to the revealed commandments of Allah (God), for God is The Just, The Peace. Moreover the Qur'an states that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent to the world as a mercy to mankind.

“And the servants of Allah Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, "Peace!"” (Qur'an 25:63).

"Wherewith Allah guides all those who seek His good pleasure to path of peace, and He leads them out of darkness, by His will, unto the light, and guides them to a path that is straight." (Qur'an 5:16)

"And if they incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah; for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things)." (Qur'an 8:61).

“And We have not sent you (Muhammad) except as a mercy for all the worlds (mankind, jinns and all creatures).” (Qur'an 21:107)
